Beams of light shone through the window onto her feast. It was the perfect night with a full amethyst moon to power the spell she had cast. The sacrifice was a homeless vagrant whom had set up camp near her house by the park; a most fortunate event – for her.
She used her tools with precision as she finished cracking through his rib cage and reached inside him for the still beating treasure. His body spasm one last time as his soul found release. Lila held the heart high, showering it in moonlight before placing it in the silver bowl on her alter. It beat thrice more as she spoke her magic words and bathed her face in the warm blood of the sacrifice.
